System Integrator/PLC Programmer – Edmonton, AB

Our client is an international automation and integration company that provides support to diverse range of industries including Oil & Gas, Mining, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Waste Water Developments.

As a System Integrator/PLC Programmer you will work for an industry leader that believes in challenging company the status quo! As the Systems Integrator/PLC Programmer, your purpose is to create and implement automation systems with varying levels of complexity, add value to this team-oriented environment by creating information from the collection of data and present professional reports by following best practices to highlight trends, alarms, and histories.

Job Duties:

  • Define site objectives by analyzing client requirements, envision system features and functionality
  • Complete development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical problems as required to complete the project
  • Develop documentation and assistance tools to support the clients’ needs
  • Provide technical consultation for clients and provide after-hours support as required
  • Update your own job knowledge by researching new technologies and software products, participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organizations
  • Aid Management in the development of projects; provide progress reports as needed


  • University degree with an emphasis on SCADA, Automation and Programming – this is a minimum requirement
  • Understanding and working knowledge of PLC programming, Allen Bradley line of products, and Industrial Automation software
  • HMI/OIT Design experience
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
  • Strong, clear communication skills
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving, quick learner, strong troubleshooting skills for Linux, Windows, and SQL systems
