Accounts Receivable Clerk/Administrator – Part-time, Temporary

Our client is one of the largest players in the property management arena, with locations around the globe. They believe in building leaders at all levels, offering challenging and stimulating work, within a uniquely collaborative culture. We are currently helping them with a part-time, temporary need in the Accounting department.

A/R Clerk/Administrator responsibilities:

  • Maintain the departmental purchase order system; review and code purchases and issue purchase orders
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing and filing of accounts payable documents
  • Assist with credit and collection accounts; prepare statements and correspondence, update account files, prepare reports and make recommendations regarding delinquent/problem accounts
  • Prepare and review tenant billings and notify the Revenue Coordinator and/or Accountants of any variances and necessary adjustments in order to ensure that all accounts are maintained accurately and in accordance with lease agreement.
  • Generate a variety of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Assist Property Accountant with monthly, quarterly and year-end procedures, including recoveries billings, balance sheet reconciliations, and other general accounting duties as required.
  • Be responsible for timely and accurate collection and input of retail sales
  • Respond to inquiries from suppliers and company staff and provide accurate information
  • Process miscellaneous invoices
  • Maintain file storage rooms and obtain files from previous years as requested
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Assist in the accounts payable function (entering data and creating vendors)
  • Prepare and completes bank deposits

What you bring:

  • Enrollment in CPA preferred
  • College Diploma in Business Administration and Communication an asset
  • Minimum two years experience in an accounting position with exposure to administrative duties; Real Estate/Property Management environment a definite asset
  • Solid understanding of: Accounting principles, Credit & Collections, Accounts Payable, Job Costing, Administrative leasing/legal procedure
  • Computer literacy and proficient in use of: Excel and Word
